A multitude of listening options is present on the Roberts Sound 53: DAB or FM radio, iPod playback, CD or even music files from an SD card or USB memory stick.

The Roberts Sound 53 is finished in a glossy piano black finish and while it looks very nice it also hides a useful feature up its sleeve - the ability to record radio programmes or tracks onto SD card or USB dongle.

The CD player handles MP3 and WMA files (as do the SD card and USB stick readers behind a drop-down panel) and there are mulitple alarms - a bonus if you are planning to use the Sound 53 in a bedroom. You can also hook up your Creative (or any other non-iPod brand) MP3 player and listen through headphones. iPod users simply drop their player into the slot in the top of the Sound 53.

Bass and treble can be trimmed using a 6 band equaliser and there are twenty presets for radio stations.
