Recent products have seen the convergence of DAB, FM and wi-fi internet radio, but the new Revo iBlik Radio Station adds an iPod dock to give a multitude of playback possibilities.

The Revo iBlik RadioStation, available now, serves up both DAB DAB+ broadcasts and streams internet radio from your router. It's not out of fashion yet, so the iBlik also handles FM radio. The iBlik is the next logical model up from the Blik RadioStation, its stablemate that omits the iPod dock.

The iBlik is compatible with both DAB and the newer, more efficient DAB+ standard (used in many countries abroad), so if the UK does decide to begin broadcasting in DAB+, you won't end up with the Betamax equivalent of DAB radio. The DAB+ upgrade is already built-in to the firmware.

The iBlik will charge and control your iPod listening habits, through its own remote control. Industry standard RCA phono line-out connectors let you hook the iBlik up to a micro system or larger amp and speakers, should you wish to. This is useful, since the 6 Watts output is hardly room-filling.

The iBlik also doubles as a very-technologically-endowed alarm clock with four alarms and customisable snooze and sleep functions. You can wake up to DAB, internet or FM radio, or to a buzzer.

The internet radio side of things gives access to 12,000+ internet radio stations using the Frontier Silicon Internet radio portal and with many broadcasters opting for high-quality MP3 formats, the iBlik is placed to handle AAC (iTunes), AIFF, AU, MP3, RM (Real Media), WMA (Windows Media Audio) and Wave playback, while supporting ASX, RAM, M3U, RPM & PLS playlist formats and RTSP, MMS, HTTP streaming protocols. It will also wirelessly stream music from your PC or Mac.

Or, if you prefer, the Revo iBlik Wifi radio dispenses with the DAB module for GBP 50.00 less. The Pure Evoke Flow DAB/wi-fi internet radio is another option.
