Pure Digital Siesta DAB digital radio with alarm clock function and FM Time for a Siesta?
Pure's latest clock alarm DAB radio is pushing its eco virtues with a standby power consumption of under a watt of power.
The Pure Siesta features a triad of alarms, which can be set as you like. It also has a light dependant resistor to dim the display when the room darkens and support for station naming on FM, thanks to RDS.
The Siesta DAB is the first product from the Pure stable that is upgradeable to the additional DAB+ standard, which will commonly used around the globe (but only, for the foreseeable future, for podcasts carried on the new 4DigitalGroup national commercial multiplex, which the Siesta could in theory understand, but cannot store as it lacks an internal memory).
Compatibility with the DAB+ standard means you could take the Siesta DAB to, say, Australia, and, having upgraded the firmware inside the unit (for a small cost), tune in to Triple M or 2GB when transmissions begin using the DAB+ standard in 2009.
The Pure Siesta also features adjustable sleep and snooze functions, a headphone socket for bedside use and a white on darkblue display showing station information and scrolling text.
At fifty quid, the Pure Siesta is now shipping.
