Thursday, 31st August 2006 Pure offer neat DAB/FM handheld with the Pure PocketDAB 1500
Pure Digital's neat PocketDAB 1500 offers DAB and FM reception in a handheld radio, beating both the 1000 and 2000 models on price.
Sennheiser in-ear headphones are supplied as standard and the PocketDAB pulls in the name of the station you're tuned to on FM thanks to RDS station naming and RadioTEXT implementation.
The PocketDAB 1500's built-in rechargeable battery means you just plug it into the mains after use (the internal battery is rated at around 24 hours of DAB usage, more for FM listening). The Pocket DAB radio weighs in at 123 grams and measures 65mm wide x 110mm tall x 21mm deep.
The headphone cable acts as the aerial for both DAB and FM reception, plus the orange backlight can be switched on or off to preserve battery life.
To receive DAB digital radio stations in the UK, you need a DAB digital radio - a type of radio that can receive digital radio broadcasts. For more information, read our guide to DAB digital radio and discover more about radios available to buy.
