Tweet ![]() | Saturday, 4 February 2012 DAB radio stations broadcast to North Devon from new transmitter North Devon has seen the launch of DAB digital radio stations serving the local area. The local DAB digital radio multiplex for Exeter and Torbay has been being extended to cover parts of North Devon, thanks to a new transmitter based at Huntshaw Cross, south-east of Bideford. The coverage of the new stations from Huntshaw Cross is as wide as that for national DAB radio stations such as Smooth Radio, Jazz FM and Planet Rock, covering Bideford and Barnstaple and stretching as far as the southwest Wales coastline. Listeners with a DAB digital radio in parts of North Devon can now tune in to Absolute Classic Rock, Absolute Radio 60s, BBC Radio Devon, Capital FM, Gold, Heart (originating from Exeter), Kiss, NME Radio, Pop Up Radio and Xfm. For more infomation, see our Devon station listings. Listeners may need to re-tune or perform an "Autotune" or "scan" with their DAB radio to pick up the new services. |
