After twenty years, Power FM is no more. The station, which launched on 4th December 1988, saw a relaunch to Galaxy yesterday afternoon.

The change is part of far-reaching measures by parent company Global Radio to make its stations more appealing to advertisers by reducing the number of radio brands it offers. By concentrating on just a few names, such as Galaxy, Heart and Gold, the company hopes this will end confusion for advertisers and attract more big-name nationals.
