Sunday, 15th April 2007 Northamptonshire DAB multiplex will bring in several new services
Pop hits station Northants 96 and Classic Gold will form part of any bid by NOW Digital, if it goes for the local Northamptonshire DAB mux licence.
Local station Connect FM might team up with an operator to ensure it is reserved capacity , however existing local FM station BBC Radio Northampton is assured space on the multiplex when it launches. The lack of established FM and AM stations in the area means a potential operator could offer a significant number of new services for the county, including a chillout, rock and children's station. A new asian station for the county could also form part of any application, although we'll have to wait until July to find out if there are any takers for the multiplex.
The new multplex is currently being advertised by the radio regulator, Ofcom. The deadline for applications is 3rd July 2007.
