Sunday, 25th March 2007 Smooth transition as jazz service resurfaces
In the North-West of England, 100.4 Smooth FM has already made the transition to Smooth Radio, but the remaining Saga stations will switch to the Smooth easy listening format on Monday at 6:00am.
The official launch of Smooth Radio will see London's 102.2 Smooth FM rebadged and a rebrand for regional and local Saga stations in the East and West Midlands and Glasgow. The new regional station for the North-East of England, originally awarded to Saga Radio, will also launch as Smooth Radio.
jazzfm.com returns to the Birmingham regional DAB digital radio multiplex following a short absence, to avoid duplication of the Smooth Radio service. On the Central Scotland regional multiplex and Glasgow and Edinburgh local DAB multiplexes, versions of the Smooth service are being broadcast. DAB multiplexes in central England and South Wales are carrying the London-based Smooth Radio service. Yorkshire and the North-West are carrying the 100.4FM service.
To receive DAB digital radio stations in the UK, you need a DAB digital radio - a type of radio that can receive digital radio broadcasts. For more information, read our guide to DAB digital radio, read DAB digital radio reviews and discover more about radios available to buy.
