Tuesday, 3rd October 2006 Three's a crowd of new transmitters in Leeds, Harlow and Reading.
Sports talk station talkSPORT, forthcoming jazz music station theJazz and classic rock music station Planet Rock can now be heard in several new areas of England, thanks to the introduction of three new transmitters.
The new DAB digital radio transmitters, based at Morley near Leeds, Mansfield, Hemdean near Reading and Epping serving Harlow, offer reception of national DAB digital commercial stations to new listeners. The new transmitter sites also improve reception for existing listeners.
The switch on means that Virgin Radio, talkSPORT and Classic FM are now being broadcast on DAB digital radio in and around these areas.
Following the switch-on of the new digital radio transmitter, listeners with a DAB digital radio in the above areas should now be able to pick up the national digital services by performing an "Autotune" or "Autoscan" with their DAB-enabled tuner or radio. The list of stations available is as follows: Classic FM

Virgin Radio
theJazz (due to launch 9:00am 25th Dec 2006)
Listeners in the area will also be able to pick up 5 channels of mobile TV and DAB radio on a suitably-equipped mobile 'phone.
