Thursday, 13th April 2006 Saga carries on winning new licences
Saga Radio - a station dedicated to the over fifties - has won the northeast regional FM radio licence. The station beat off competition from twelve other interested groups to take the licence, which covers around two million people across Tyne and Wear, Durham and Teeside.
The station can be heard on 97.5 FM when it launches later this year and will play easy listening and melodic music with speech programming for a mature audience.
