Thursday, 13th April 2006 DAB listeners prepare for launch of Yorkshire Radio
Leeds United have announced a new digital radio station based across the road from their ground. Yorkshire Radio will broadcast around the clock on the regional DAB digital radio multiplex for Yorkshire, operated by MXR Digital.
Primarily a music-led station, the owners are promising extensive sports coverage, including non-league football coverage. It is expected the station will launch in summer, taking the slot previously occupied by Jazz FM.
To receive DAB digital radio stations in the UK, you need a DAB digital radio - a type of radio that can receive digital radio broadcasts. For more information, read our guide to DAB digital radio and discover more about radios available to buy.
