 | The switch on of a new transmitter, sited at Wickhambrook - the BBC's 41st location for its new digital radio transmitters - took place on 21st June. About 188,000 people are covered by the new transmitter. The addition of the transmitter allows a full set of the national services from the BBC to be heard on a DAB digital radio in and around Bury St Edmonds, Saffron Walden, Thetford and Newmarket. Listeners with a DAB digital radio in and around these areas can receive the new services by performing an "Autotune" or "Autoscan" with their DAB-enabled tuner or radio.
