   station directory latest radio news air today feedback features  |  Sunday, 6th June 2004 BBC is sharing its national DAB at Charing BBC urban music station 1 Xtra, comedy and books channel BBC7 and extra sports coverage station Five Live Sports Extra can now be picked up on a DAB digital radio by 143,000 people across Sittingbourne, Faversham, Charing & Doddington. The switch on of a new transmitter, based at Charing Hill in Kent, took place on 4th June. |
 | The addition of the transmitter allows a full set of the national services from the BBC to be heard on a DAB digital radio in the above areas. Listeners with a DAB digital radio in and around these areas can receive the new services by performing an "Autotune" or "Autoscan" with their DAB-enabled tuner or radio. The national BBC services now available are as follows: BBC Asian Network BBC Radio 1 BBC 1Xtra BBC Radio 2 BBC Radio 3 BBC Radio 4 BBC Radio Five Live BBC Five Live Sports Extra BBC 6 Music BBC 7 BBC World Service To receive DAB digital radio stations in the UK, you need a DAB digital radio - a new type of radio that can receive digital radio broadcasts.
