Perth has seen the switch-on of a new transmitter, based at Kirkton Mailer, which serves Perth, Balbeggie, Bridge of Earn, Burrelton, Stanley and Methven. Coverage is made available to 69,000 people. |
 | A second transmitter based at Ridge Hill serves Hereford, Ledbury and Bromyard as well as parts of south Worcestershire. Up to 160,000 potential listeners with a DAB digital radio can now tune in to the BBC's national digital radio stations in and around Herefordshire. The switch-on of the latest transmitters allows a full set of the national services from the BBC to be heard on a DAB digital radio. Listeners with a DAB digital radio in and around these areas can receive the new services by performing an "Autotune" or "Autoscan" with their DAB-enabled tuner or radio. The national BBC services now available are as follows: BBC Asian Network BBC Radio 1 BBC 1Xtra BBC Radio 2 BBC Radio 3 BBC Radio 4 BBC Radio Five Live BBC Five Live Sports Extra BBC 6 Music BBC 7 BBC World Service To receive DAB digital radio stations in the UK, you need a DAB digital radio - a new type of radio that can receive digital radio broadcasts.
