   station directory latest radio news air today feedback features  |  Thursday, 18th March 2004 BBC switches on new DAB transmitters for Honiton and Keighley BBC urban music station 1 Xtra, comedy and books channel BBC7 and sports coverage station Five Live Sports Extra are now available across Keighley in Yorkshire and Honiton in Devon. Two new transmitters, powered up on 18th and 16th March 2004 respectively, are beaming out the BBC's national digital stations into homes. Around 90,000 new listeners are covered by the Keighley transmitter, which also serves Silsden, Oakworth and Steeton. |
 | Axminster, Chard, parts of the A30 and Honiton are covered by another transmitter based at Stockland Hill in Devon, serving around 70,000 listeners. The switch-on of the latest transmitter allows a full set of national services from the BBC to be heard on a DAB digital radio. Listeners with a DAB digital radio in and around the above areas can receive the new services by performing an "Autotune" or "Autoscan" with their DAB-enabled tuner or radio.
