 Sunday, 14th March 2004 May the forces be with you on digital radio in East Anglia
A new music station, based on a format of the USA top 40 charts and with a decidedly urban mix, is to launch on the local DAB digital radio multiplexes covering Norfolk on July 4th - Independence Day. It will follow in Cambridgeshire around 30th September 2004, when the multiplex launches.
Zeta Digital is aiming its format at both servicemen and women stationed at Mildenhall, Lakenheath and the many US bases in East Anglia. The new Anglo-American format will also bring in local DAB listeners, businesses and communities across the region.

Digital Operations Manger, Jeff Davis said: “Zeta will give listeners a taste of the music and on-air style of US radio stations. But we’ll have lots of local content for East Anglia, including contests, instant requests, promotions and, of course, local business opportunities. This is a completely new music format for the region, and we’re excited to be bringing more listening choice to the people of East Anglia."
Backed by USA-based radio operator ABC Radio International - one of the three major US national radio networks - the station is already streaming its output on the internet. Based at Mildenhall in Suffolk, the station plans to syndicate shows from the USA including The Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 and The Hot Mix House Party with Scuba Steve.
