A new transmitter, powered up on 4th March 2004, is carrying the BBC's national digital stations into to people's homes. Around 248,000 potential listeners to DAB are covered by the BBC's transmitter. |
 | The switch-on of the latest transmitter allows a full set of national services from the BBC and national commercial services to be heard on a DAB digital radio. Listeners with a DAB digital radio in and around these areas can receive the new services by performing an "Autotune" or "Autoscan" with their DAB-enabled tuner or radio.
