 Saturday, 28th January 2004 National commercial boosts power of DAB network by 71KW
Digital One, the national commercial digital radio network operator, has finished the boost to its transmitter network that carries digital-only stations Planet Rock, pop station Core and books-and-plays channel Oneword.
The power increase became possible after negotiations with ntl, the commercial radio regulator, the Radio Communications Agency and RTE in Southern Ireland over any issues of possible interference. In total, 71 KW has been added to transmission power.

Listeners with a DAB digital radio served by the above transmitters can hear the national commercial digital services by performing an "Autotune" or "Autoscan" with their DAB-enabled tuner or radio. The list of stations available is as follows: Classic FM

Virgin Radio
A further six transmitters are planned by Digital One in 2004.
