A second transmitter based at Durris is now on the air, serving Aberdeen, Stonehaven, Inverberie and Banchory, for a combined total of 249,000 potential listeners.
Up to 177,000 potential listeners with a DAB digital radio can now tune in to the BBC's national digital radio stations in Torquay, Paignton, Totnes, Newton Abbot and surrounding areas.
The switch-on of the latest transmitters allows a full set of the national services from the BBC to be heard on a DAB digital radio.
Listeners with a DAB digital radio in and around these areas can receive the new services by performing an "Autotune" or "Autoscan" with their DAB-enabled tuner or radio. The national BBC services now available are as follows:
BBC Asian Network
BBC Radio 1
BBC 1Xtra
BBC Radio 2
BBC Radio 3
BBC Radio 4
BBC Radio Five Live
BBC Five Live Sports Extra
BBC 6 Music
BBC 7
