BBC turns on transmitter for its national digital radio stations at Caradon Hill to serve North Plymouth and parts of Devon and Cornwall

BBC urban music station 1 Xtra, comedy and books channel BBC7 and current and archive pop and rock performance music station 6 music are now being broadcast across Tavistock, Liskeard, North Plymoth and as far West as Looe at Whitsand Bay, thanks to yet another BBC DAB digital radio transmitter based at Caradon Hill.

The latest introduction to its series of radio transmitters means that potentially up to 240,000 people in parts of East Cornwall and South-West Devon can receive the new services.
