 | The switch-on of the latest transmitter on Thursday, 4th December 2003 allows a further 135,000 potential listeners to the BBC's services. The new transmitter serves West Sussex, Alton, Haslemere, Petersfield as well as many other surrounding areas.Brighton and Hove's local DAB digital radio multiplex is due to launch in January 2004. The national commercial services are also available in and around Brighton and Hove, West Sussex and Hampshire. Listeners with a DAB digital radio in East Hampshire, West Sussex and surrounding areas can receive the new services by performing an "Autotune" or "Autoscan" with their DAB-enabled tuner or radio.
