Listeners with a DAB-enabled radio in and around the South-East area of East Sussex can now tune in to the set of BBC stations now broadcasting, which include digital-only 6 music and 1Xtra, thanks to the new transmitter. |
 | The power-up of the latest transmitter on 26th November 2003 allows a further 240,000 potential listeners to the BBC's services. The announcement comes before the launch of the local DAB digital radio multiplex for Brighton and Hove, which is due to launch in January 2004. The nearby area of Brighton and Hove has also recently seen the switch-on of its own BBC transmitter. Listeners with a DAB digital radio in Hastings and surrounding areas can receive the new services by performing an "Autotune" or "Autoscan" with their DAB-enabled tuner or radio.
