The new portable handheld A-3000 DAB digital radio from Aria Digital has arrived, with the ability to pick up FM broadcasts as well as Band III and L DAB digital radio stations.
The dual-band DAB capability means owners of the pocket handheld can take it to on to the continent, where Band L is more popular for DAB radio transmissions.
The lightweight A-3000 packs 10 FM and 10 DAB presets into its small casing.

A backlit dual-line dot matrix display gives station and multiplex information, while a battery indicator above lets the listener know when it's time to change over the two AA batteries. Battery life is quoted as 10 hours.
The package includes batteries, power supply unit, headphones (that also double up as the aerial) and full instructions and the current retail price is just under GBP150.00.
The Aria A-3000 is the first dual-band DAB digital radio to be shipped in the UK.
Aria have also unveiled a number of other DAB digital radios, including the battery-or-mains Aria A-1000 portable DAB radio. The radio connects across the airwaves to DAB Band III digital multiplexes via its built-in telescopic aerial, but an external aerial can also be plugged in.
The A-1000 can perform an AutoScan to locate DAB multiplexes, plus its display gives signal quality and station information. The compact radio also features a headphone socket and can run for around 9.5 hours on its 4 batteries. It is priced GBP99.90.
The Aria A-2000 combines FM and DAB digital radio in one box. The radio handles up to 6 FM and 6 DAB presets, with its backlit display changing from blue to green as you switch from DAB to FM. A remote control is also included. The tuner retails for around GBP140.00.
The mini-sized GBP180.00 Aria 4000 stores up to 10 stations in memory on DAB Band III, gives station information on its two-line blue backlit display and has a number of output stages including analogue, SPDIF digital and Toslink optical digital. A remote control is also included.
Finally, the full-sized separates Aria A-5000, which will be shipped in a black or silver finish, incorporates FM (RDS) and DAB digital radio reception. Twin power supplies power the FM analogue and DAB digital tuners, while the dual-line display caters for station and multiplex information. It also features both analogue and digital outputs.
