Regional DAB digital radio operator MXR Digital has successfully switched on new transmitters to cover an area stretching from the coast at Bridlington across to Skipton, from Thirsk down to Sheffield. |
 | It means listeners with a DAB digital tuner can hear a wide variety of new radio stations broadcasting on the digital platform. First up is Jazz FM, playing smooth jazz and classic soul music. Urban Choice takes the stage for urban sounds and reggae alongside teen station Capital Disney. Local and national news can be heard courtesy of DNN's rolling news service, whilst classic rock music fans are catered for by The Arrow. The area's Galaxy 105 makes it onto digital radio, bringing dance and r&b onto DAB. Galaxy is joined by 106-108FM Real Radio and a brand new easy listening station called Smooth. Adult MOR station Heart completes the line-up in Yorkshire. The new set of services, which launched today on channel 12A, can be found by performing a re-tune on any DAB digital radio, in the Yorkshire region. MXR's "Driving Digital" crew will be out and about in the region in July at Princes Quay, the White Rose Shopping Centre and McArthur Glen Designer Outlet centres, to give shoppers a taste of DAB digital radio.
