Castle Rock FM hoping to branch out into Argyll and Bute

Castle Rock FM and Peninsula FM have both set their sights on the new local radio licence covering Helensburgh in Argyll and Bute, Scotland.

Castle Rock, which already broadcasts to Dumbarton, is planning a station for Helensburgh and the Rossneath Peninsula. Community information and interaction are promised. Music will be sourced from the last forty years. The station launched to Dumbarton on May 30th 2001.

Peninsula FM has based itself at the heart of Helensburgh and plans live interviews alongside a music and chat format for residents of the town and nearby Kilcreggan, Cove and Clynder.

A decision by the Radio Authority as to which of the two applicants will be awarded the FM licence is expected in Summer.
