Five go for Buxton radio licence

Derbyshire's choice of radio listening is set to widen, thanks to five companies vying for the new radio licence to serve Buxton and the High Peaks.

FM The Edge hopes to bring news, sport and a selection of music from the last forty years to the area. High Peak Radio (formerly Radio Buxton) is looking to broadcast "great music" alongside a local news service, whilst Spring FM is turning the clock back as far as the 1940s, with its aims to play music from six decades. Temple FM wants to keep Buxton residents up-to-date with community and charity events. Peak AM submitted an application to run a service on the AM waveband, for an age group between 22 and 55 years.
