Fancy running the local digi multiplex for Stoke-on-Trent? TWG Emap Digital Limited have lodged the sole application with the Radio Authority and the advertisement is now closed. A new ensemble of stations could be heard in the borough of Stoke in April 2004, should TWG Emap Digital be successful in a licence award. At least five stations would launch on DAB when the transmitter is switched on. Any licence award is expected to take place early in the new year. TWG Emap Digital's line-up would include: |
 | BBC Radio Stoke : news, information and music (BBC Radio) Signal 1 : pop and contemporary music (The Wireless Group) Signal 2 : classic hits and oldies (The Wireless Group) Kiss : current and classic dance anthems (Emap Performance) The Storm : modern rock (GWR Group) (new station) : easy listening music (provider TBA) (new station) : non-stop pop music (provider TBA) (new station) : country music (provider TBA) It is expected Smash Hits Radio would launch on the multiplex as the non-stop pop station. Emap Performance has recently launched its own hard rock and heavy metal station, based on its successful magazine title Kerrang!.
