Nottingham's digital dream

Local digital radio is getting closer to the city of Nottingham, as the local multiplex for the area is currently being advertised. The multiplex is likely to be on-air in early 2004.

It is expected NOWdigital will submit an application to run the multiplex, with any competing application possibly coming from Emap. Emap lost out to NOWdigital in the recent award for the local licence for Leicester.

The deadline for applications is 18th March 2003.


DAB digital radio logo by Steven Hooper                            BBC Radio Nottingham is guaranteed space to broadcast on the multiplex, with applications likely to reserve room for existing stations Trent FM and Classic Gold Gem. It is up to the applicant to decide which other services are offered.
