New areas added to plans for advertisement of FM radio licences

Kidderminster, Banbury and Blackburn are just three of several towns lined up to receive new local radio licences. The advertisement of the next round of local services will take place in the order listed below.

Many areas are carried over from a previous 'working list'. These are:


                            Yeovil
Gairloch & Loch Ewe
Maidstone
West Lothian
North Norfolk
Buxton
Helensburgh

From January 2003 onwards, more licences will be advertised in the following order:

West Midlands (third regional licence)
Carmarthenshire
Glasgow (large-scale)
Ballymena
Kidderminster
Cornwall (second countywide licence)
Blackburn
Norwich
Banbury
Durham
Ashford (Kent)
Torbay
