The new local radio station for Chester and the surrounding areas will be Chester FM, it has been announced. The contest for the licence involved four other companies.

Chester won the licence on its promise to provide a "locally focused and locally driven radio station for Chester, with news and information relevant to people in Chester and its hinterland, combined with a popular variety of music from the last 40 years aimed at the adult population."
