Oxon pulls in four applications for FM licence

Oxfordshire could be getting a brand new sound on the FM waveband if one of three applicants manages to win the licence from the existing station Fusion 107.9FM.

Fusion 107.9 promises to keep playing 'new and cutting edge urban, dance, alternative and credible chart music' as well as news and information for Oxford's youth culture. New applicant Blue FM will draw on an archive of music from the past forty years, while More FM will aim its music and shows at an audience over the age of 35, so as to offer a different service to that of Fox FM. Its backers include Newsquest and Chrysalis.

More FM logo                            Juice 107.9 would offer a similar service to Fusion, but with its own style and shows. It aims to offer dance, r'n'b and hip hop and speech for 15-34 year olds.
