|  Friday, 2nd NovemberSouth Hampshire will be able to tune in to local digital radio in 2002/3 The new local digital radio multiplex licence for South Hampshire, covering Southampton, Portsmouth, Winchester and the Isle of Wight is being advertised. BBC Radio Solent is guaranteed a place on the new multiplex, but the winner of the licence will determine which local commercial stations take up a place on the new ensemble of services. Likely applicants include Capital Radio, which runs stations Ocean FM and Power FM in the area. Radio Investments Limited may also form part of any bid, as they own Wessex FM in Winchester and Isle of Wight Radio. The closing date for applications is 12th February 2002. |
