Score looks way into the future for digital radio for Inverness

Score Digital, Scottish Radio Holdings' DAB offshoot, is planning to launch the local digital multiplex for Inverness within the next three years. This week the company won the right to operate the multiplex, without competition from any other parties. Score Digital aims to bring MFR - Moray Firth Radio and its opt-out service MFR 1107 MW to the digital platform. Score's Continuous Cool Country music station, 3C, will also be broadcast when programming for MFR 1107 is not scheduled. The BBC's stations Radio Scotland and Gaelic language service, Radio Nan Gaidheal, will take their place on the multiplex.

The single transmitter at Mount Eagle will enable 38% of adult listeners with a digital radio to tune in to the services. No other services have been outlined for the area.
