Score Digital secure Perth and Dundee licence

Score Digital has beaten off competition from rival SwitchDigital to win the local digital multiplex licence for Dundee and Perth. Many of the area's existing stations will be simulcasting on the new digital licences and there will be a new community access channel, The Bridge, a continuous country music station 3C and a progressive music station, the provider of which has yet to be announced.

All of the FM and AM stations are aiming to go live on digital radio within 6 months. The stations that will be on air in Spring 2002 consist of Tay FM and Tay AM, Wave 102 in Dundee and Kingdom FM in Fife.

Both BBC Radio Scotland and BBC Radio Nan Gaidheal will be carried on the local multiplex.

Switch Digital had announced plans to bring Ministry of Sound Radio and Ritz to Tayside if it won the licence.
