Now Digital only interested party in applying for local digital licence

Just one company has applied to run the local digital radio licence covering Southend and Chelmsford in Essex. Now Digital Ltd. proposes to launch Essex FM and Breeze on the digital multiplex, with new dance and easy listening stations in the pipeline. If Now Digital's application in successful, country music station Ritz and music-from-the-movies station Flix Radio will also be part of the multiplex. Ritz Radio can currently be heard in London, while Flix Radio launched on local digital radio in Coventry at the end of January.
