Sunday, 17th February 2012 BBC switches on new digital radio transmitter in Newquay
The BBC has powered up a new digital radio transmitter serving Newquay in Cornwall. The towns gets a boost to its digital radio services from the new 500 Watt transmitter.
Listeners in the above areas with a DAB digital radio will be able to pick up national digital radio stations from the BBC, such as Radio 4 Extra, Five Live Sports Extra and 6 Music. A full list of services is given below and on our national stations listings page.
To receive DAB digital radio stations in the UK, you need a DAB radio - a type of radio designed to tune in to digital broadcasts. A standard FM radio cannot tune in to stations on digital radio. To upgrade your analogue radio, see a wide selection of digital radios available to buy.
