Sunday, 28th February 2010 Denon D-F107 Denon's awesome sounding D-F107 excelled with Alicia Keys' stripped version of Empire State of Mind. With a decent pair of cans in a noisy demo room, the Denon deftly handled Alicia's vocals, producing a capitivating and enthralling listen. Although lacking in an aerial to test out DAB, FM and AM, the Denon's performance on CD alone is a fair indicator of how it would deal with radio. With 2 x 65 Watts of power available, the Denon features DAB and DAB+ compatible tuner, Moving Magnet phono connection for a turntable, USB port for connection of the company's iPod dock, plus a fascia-mounted input allowing you to plug in other brands of MP3 player. The simplicity of its controls, combined with clean looks and a sensible array of features is this system's selling point. No less than 6 analogue inputs are available, with 2 tape loops and subwoofer pre-out. The unit consumers less than one fifth of a watt on standby. The Denon D-F107's dimensions are 250 x 82 x 263mm, with the main unit weighing in at 2.6kg, and is available to buy now, with a price tag of around GBP600.00. |
