Monday, 23rd February 2009 Radio-now reports from Sound and Vision - The Bristol Show 2009 The last year has seen an explosion in the amount of products offering iPod connectivity: a range of systems from Denon, Onkyo and Yamaha now offer a dedicated slot for your 'pod or the option of an add-on. We've quick reviews of the Onkyo CS-525 DAB micro system, Denon's D-M37 DAB system and the new Yamaha CRX-D430 receiver paired with Yamaha speakers. Meanwhile, over in the Vita Audio camp, we've a first glance at the new all-in-one R2i system featuring iPod dock and a second look at the R4 integrated music system. There's also news of R1 Classic and internet-radio Evolution models.| Mi too! | |
The stunning Myryad Mi iPod-enabled music system was on show for a cool GBP 1250. Featuring a huge, colour screen and unique interface that scrolls the name of the iPod track for easy viewing across the room, the Myryad sports touch-sensitive buttons (though the menus weren't always as intuitive as we'd like) a DAB and FM receiver and CD player. Played through Grado Goldring NS1000 headphones the sound was absolutely astounding, even allowing for a slightly harsh-sounding Madonna track! Now, it just needs to be paired with equally decent speakers.

The DAB-enabled NAD Viso Five was also on show, sporting a separate iPod dock. Even with a complete lack of aerial, the Viso Five still managed to pull in a signal on DAB, revealing a rich, warm sound, but alas not enough for a quick review.
