DAB radio postcode check Tweet ![]() | Saturday, 31st December 2011 BBC outlines plans for new DAB digital radio transmitters up to 2017 The BBC has published indicative plans for expansion of its DAB digital radio network, carrying national stations such as BBC 6 music and 1Xtra. The plans indicate more than 150 transmitters to be built between 2012 and 2017. The aim is to provide robust coverage of the BBC's national DAB digital radio stations for up to 97 percent of the population. The full list of proposed transmitters can be seen below. To receive DAB digital radio stations in the UK, you need a DAB radio - a type of radio designed to tune in to digital broadcasts. A standard FM radio cannot tune in to stations on digital radio.
