Teac SR-L50 DAB radio now available

Hi-fi manufacturer Teac is now shipping its SR-L50 DAB radio, featuring CD player and twin speakers.

The SR-L50 plays CD-recordable and CD-rewriteable discs as well as normal music CDs. Up to twenty stations can be stored in memory - ten on FM and ten on AM. Stations on DAB digital radio can be selected from an alphabetical list.

The combo system produces 15 Watts RMS and features a sub-woofer to improve bass response. The Teac SR-L50 also features an alarm clock with snooze function and a sleep timer.

Weighing in at 6kg and with dimensions of 205 x 395 x210mm, the Teac SR-L50 is available now at around GBP210.00.

New stations on DAB digital radio

- Welsh language station Radio Acen has launched on the DAB digital radio multiplex for Swansea. The station's output includes simple dialogues and news bulletins as an introduction to the Welsh language.

- GWR Group and HIT entertainment are to launch a radio station for children on DAB digital radio this Spring. The service is due to launch in April 2005 on all Now Digital and DRg multiplexes in London, Bristol, Bath, Essex, Berkshire, Swindon and Dorset. Music from nursery rhymes and musicals will make up some of the playlist. There will also be speech programmes aimed at both adults and children.
