Acoustic Solutions introduce new DAB/FM tuner

DAB hi-fi manufacturer Acoustic Solutions has introduced the second of its range of hi-fi separates tuners - the SP111D. The latest addition to the SP110D tuner offers both DAB Band III and FM wavebands, the latter with RDS station naming.

The Acoustic Solutions tuner is equipped with both optical digital and analogue outputs and so can easily be connected up to a MiniDisc or CD recorder.

Morphy Richards seeks out style with kitchen DAB/FM radio

Morphy Richards has launched its first DAB/FM radio for the kitchen. The Morphy Richards 27015 has twin speakers, 14 presets across DAB Band III and FM, and features RDS station naming.

Styled in white, the Morphy Richards 27015 DAB radio also features a line out, headphone socket and aerial F-connector, allowing a number of connectivity options. Station information and scrolling text is displayed on its centrally-mounted display.

Saga set to go on in Glasgow

Oldies and easy listening music station Saga 105.2fm is set to launch in Glasgow on 7th September 2004. The station beat off competition from 12 other applicants in the hotly-contested bid to run the FM licence.

BBC improves DAB reception in Bristol

BBC r&b music station 1 Xtra, spoken word and books channel BBC7 and live sports commentary station Five Live Sports Extra can now be picked up on a DAB digital radio across Bristol.

The switch on of a new transmitter, based at Pur Down, covers around 162,000 people.
The addition of the transmitter allows a full set of the
national services from the BBC to be heard on a DAB digital radio in and around the area.

Listeners with a DAB digital radio in and around central, south and western parts of the city of Bristol can receive the new services by performing an "Autotune" or "Autoscan" with their DAB-enabled tuner or radio. The national BBC services now available are as follows:

- BBC Asian Network
- BBC Radio 1
- BBC 1Xtra
- BBC Radio 2
- BBC Radio 3
- BBC Radio 4
- BBC Radio Five Live
- BBC Five Live Sports Extra
- BBC 6 Music
- BBC 7
- BBC World Service
